The island

Fuerteventura is one of seven Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean. Just 59 miles away from the African coast.

 

The perfect climate, with annual average temperatures between 68-75Fº and more than 2973 hours of sunlight.

 

The annual average air humidity is between 19 % and 38 %. Excellent conditions for all types of aquatics and the ideal location to relax on the beautiful beaches with fine sands. Fuerteventura is the longest island of the Canaries (North to South 60,89 miles).

 

Situated between Gran Canaria and Lanzarote. The area is 640,82 miles2 and the highest peak 888,45 yards (Pico de la Zarza). The population in 2007 was 94.396.  The island is made up of six municipalities:  La Oliva, Puerto del Rosario, Antigua, Betancuria, Tuineje and Pájara. The name of the capital is Puerto del Rosario, seat of the governmentof Fuerteventura.
